Project Description

Visible But Lost – Get Lost Sailing

Get Lost Sailing is a new start-up based in Poole, specialising in unforgettable power boat trips for locals and holiday makers looking to experience some of the epic landscapes and sea life of the Dorset Coast. Whilst the ethos behind the boat trip experience was to get lost in the experience, it was essential to increase the companies visibility to the public.

Building a Start-Up Brand

Noel, the brains behind Get Lost Sailing had already gone to some lengths to start building a brand around his power boat trips. A unique hashtag, a brief style guide, good content and a professional looking website were all in place. The makings of the brand were visible but it was apparent that some key ingredients were missing in order to sew together the whole experience.

The Logo

A few logo variations had been previously produced. Predominantly made up of text and photographs it was instantly recognised that these logos didn’t convey the brand strongly and would be hard to replicate across multiple channels. As a result it was determined a “cut-out” boat design and company name text would be best suited to enable use across digital, print and all types of promotional material. Get Lost Sailing LogoThis type of logo would pave the way for a consistent brand message across all marketing platforms. Incorporating the already determined blue and yellow colour scheme the new logo was ready to be remembered.

Promotional Pamphlet Design

As with many tourist attractions a pamphlet is one of the best ways to convey the service your provide and getting people interested in what you have to offer. An informative and effective pamphlet is a persuasive tool to encourage people to become paying customers. They literally have your business in their hand, and it’s important every opportunity is taken to ensure they finish looking at with the intent of participating in your service.

With this in mind great emphasis was placed on producing a pamphlet that engaged the reader visually and informatively, they would need everything to ensure they would feel confident in their purchase. As a result a professional, content rich, engaging pamphlet was produced that fully embraced all the selling points Get Lost Sailing had to offer.

We commissioned JStreet creative to design a special logo for an event we were taking part in. The event was the Bournemouth Bay run in aid of the British Heart Foundation. The guys at JStreet Creative really captured the spirit of what we were going for. We liked the work so much we even adapted it to create a new company logo. The project was completed in great time and I couldn’t recommend them more.

The A Board Poster Design

When standing on Poole Quay or any high street, getting noticed amongst the competition is key. Incorporating the same visual approach as the pamphlet (for brand synergy) the Get Lost Sailing A0 poster provides an informative and engaging sales tool for passing traffic.

Boat trips, prices, ways to pay and where to buy are all clearly visible. To get people thinking about their experience on the trip the poster also includes visual images of what they can expect to see from the boat.

Flyer and Voucher Design

A voucher was required for an upcoming event. The customer would purchase the voucher and redeem it a later date. To maximise brand exposure and to act as a constant reminder of their forthcoming trip, it was decided the voucher would predominantly feature the new logo design.

Vehicle Signage Design

To further utilise the logo, the new design has also been included on the Get Lost Sailing boat, making it instantly recognisable on the quay and further enhancing brand awareness.

Further on board visual aids will also be present with uniforms including polo shirts, fleeces and hats that will feature the new logo.
